In a recent survey more Christians who attend church regularly agreed that they had seen a verifiable miracle than agreed that they had seen successful evangelism.

In another report, one major denomination stated that it only needed one church member to approach one non-Christian every ten years in order to end its steady loss in attendance but their sermons fall on deaf ears.

Does your church breathe in healthy air, stretch its limbs, pick up its staff and then stand rigid praying for telescopic vision while the sheep wander further away, or does it breathe in, stretch its limbs, coil its body and breathe out its stale air naturally as it springs forth in pursuit of its lost?

Why not search for a trail, establish key vantage points and forage through familiar hiding places to find the lost and return them to the flock. Your body must breathe in and out to be healthy and a healthy body produces.

Does your church body produce? Does it leave defenseless sheep behind to starve or be devoured?

Thousands of sheep wander online and many seek direction where there is none. You can find them by the trail they leave in popular technologies. You can perch on strategic vantage points and find familiar hiding places on the Web.

It's Not About Programs

It's not about new programs, new sermons or new technologies though they might be useful. Blogs, social networking, PPC and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques are key innovations but its not about them any more than a trail is about the dirt or a puzzle is about its pieces.

Putting the pieces together in the right position and sequence to create a distinct, vibrant picture counts.

The pieces may include a program or technology. However, these pieces do not stand alone nor do they piece themselves together. If you turn the puzzle box upside down and spill the pieces onto the ground a picture never forms. No matter how many times you pick them up, return them to the box and dump them, a completed picture never evolves.

Why?

Intelligent intervention is required. Even better if the designer has put together the puzzle before!

Intelligent Design Is Needed

Improving outreach with innovation is a collaborative process featuring your church and a strategy of innovation that includes the following:

  • Piecing together clues to spot familiar trails
  • Identifying vantage points to increase visibility
  • Foraging nooks and crannies

It's not magic -- it's work -- and it works. Reconcile technology to your distinct community footprint to draw large, targeted, hungry crowds.
